Favorite Car: Now you know.

I guess this is what you call writers block, I just can’t seem to think of anything to write another article about, of course it will be about a car, but what car, that is where I’m stumped, I have written about the camaro and corvette so many times, I don’t know how much more I can write about them, they are the two muscle cars that I know the most about, the two that I have played with the most, and with out a doubt my favorite.

This article will not be really specific this time, I just thought that I’d tell you a few of the reasons why these two cars are my favorite muscle cars, now as far as the camaro goes, I owned a 1969 Z/28 as a kid, and man I’ll tell you, the fun time that I had in that car can’t even be counted, I got the car, and with in the first year I was putting a new high performance 302 in it, this engine was running a 620 lift 320 duration roller cam, and during that there was no such a thing as a street roller, this was a full race camshaft, and not intended for street use.

Thus offering no low end power at all, my power range started at about 2700 RPM, although the car ran a 4 speed Muncie M22 rock crusher transmission, it still took some getting used to when you were behind the wheel, you were not going to mash the pedal from a dead stand still and turn the car side ways, it had it power up high, and it in turn treated me very well at the drag strip, it ran 3.73:1 rear gears for the street, and 4.10:1 on the race track, it also boasted 12.5: compression pistons, and 2.02 corvette fuely cylinder heads.

It constantly ran 10’s and 11’s at the drag strip, and drove me to work every day, there would not be enough paper in the entire world for me to tell you all the fun this car made, the car was blue with white racing stripes, it had a Z/28 center console with gages in it, it did not have a factory cross ram, but I bought an after market crossram and installed two Holley 700 double pumpers on top of it, the car turned me in to a boy, and a man at the same time, every time a drove it, I felt just like I was god, and nobody could stop me.

This car was my savior, and the only religion that I ever really believed in, and it still is to this day, this is the reason why I write these articles, in hops that I may help some of the kids of today see the light, and realize that America builds the best cars, and the most fun cars that you can own.

Type of NASCAR?

Stock car racing was really born out of the desire of owners of customized stock (meaning: ‘off the sales lot’) cars to show off their vehicles, craftsmanship and driving expertise. The need to ’soup up’ these stock cars came from the wish to escape the law enforcement agencies pursuing them when they were running moonshine or put another way, bootlegging.

For the period of Prohibition, a lot of moonshine whiskey was being made in remote regions of the Appalachians and in particular the Allegheny Mountains, from where it was taken by private carriers in their own stock cars often to the southern states. Many of these drivers souped up their cars in order to have more chance of escape.

When Prohibition was revoked in 1933, this bootlegging continued in order to avoid paying duty, but it gradually died out. However, the fire had already been lit and the drivers of these cars liked to race them in their spare time for pleasure and reward, especially in the southern states and particularly in North Carolina, where most of the stock car teams are still to be found.

NASCAR was established by Bill French in 1947 when he created the first set of uniform rules and a championship scoring system so that an overall winner of all the season’s races could be worked out.

However, the conditions in the early days were pretty crude. The cars were usually second-hand and worn and the track was just dirt and dust. Under these circumstances the cars quickly fell apart, so NASCAR allowed competing cars to be customized or strengthened. Safety aspects for the drivers were also introduced. Nowadays, the NASCAR instruction manual clearly defines all the alterations that are allowed on contending cars.

These days it is a mistake to call NASCAR cars ’stock cars‘; they are anything other than stock cars. NASCAR cars are hand made. The frames are poles apart from stock cars in that they are constructed from tubes for strength; the tin is sheet steel and the engine blocks begin as just that – a bare block. What the mechanics do with it after that is a closely guarded secret.

The safety of the driver is also taken very seriously. The driver is shielded from injury by a heavy roll cage. Strong round and square tubes make up the car’s framework, while thinner tubing is used at the front and back ends to absorb the impact of crashes by crushing slowly. These are called clips and the front clip will also allow the engine to fall away under the car, rather than be pushed straight back into the driver.

The bodies of NASCAR cars are not easy to make, often taking ten days to finish. However, NASCAR rules cover the general body shape and they provide thirty templates to make constructing a NASCAR car a little simpler.

But it does not stop there. There are different regulations and templates for Type of music to participate in different activities as skiing in Super car is not competitive in the short or force.

eBay has about 11 million users. Most users are average people who use eBay as their own personal business, whether they want to purchase or sell goods. However, GM has set up a deal with eBay that allows their certified used car dealers to list their complete used car inventories on eBay. The inventory is listed in the third party classified section and has been there since the second quarter of 2008. All of GM’s brands are participating; Buick, Chevrolet, GMC and Pontiac have listed vehicles on the site. Hummer, Saab and Saturn can also take advantage of this Internet bargain basement.

There are about 3900 dealerships that sell GM certified cars, so the amount of cars available is enormous. Before GM had this brainstorm of selling cars through eBay, they sold 516,560 used cars from those 3900 dealerships. That’s an average of about 133 cars per lot. The dealership does not pay for this eBay listing; it’s free, so anything that’s sold on the site can be considered an additional sale; one that would never have come to their lot in the first place.

The figures show that eBay sells a lot of cars. People automatically will look on eBay when they are in the market for a car. Small used car dealers, not certified by anyone, have been using eBay for years. They usually use the auction rather than the classified section. Anyone who is in the market for a used car can almost find one anywhere. Individuals sell their cars on such things like Craig’s List, the classified section of the local paper, in their front yards, or they park them at the malls and just about anywhere there is traffic. It’s hard to say just how many used cars are for sale daily, but it’s surely a staggering number.

This move by GM should be a bright spot in the dismal auto industry, since the recession and what some people call a depression, continues. There’s no point in buying a new vehicle when you can find a slightly used car one for a lot less money. However, if the dealerships get creative and offer some attractive prices and perhaps some realistic financing to go with it, they could sell a lot of cars. But it’s going to take some time and creativity from the dealers to help them reduce their inventories and generate some cash flow in the process.

eBay cars have a very great way of searching for what you are looking for. Maybe it’s a car, boat, truck, motorcycle or whatever. You can use the browse and search feature. With this feature you can get very specific. What this means is that you can look for year, model and the make.

All you really need to do is head over to eBay motors and have a look at what interests you in their listings in the eBay car auctions.

What to do once you’re at eBay motors.

1. You can go directly to the eBay motors home page or browse all the motor categories.

2. Once you found something you are interested in the categories go to it.

3. You can then pick something in the left navigation to narrow your choices in the eBay car auctions.

4. Once you are there you can find the vehicles by mileage, make and year by going through the column headers.

5. Then you can click the column headers again to reverse the sort order.

Dogs love to chase after things; that is a given. However, when your dog starts chasing after cars you are going to want to stop him from his chasing behavior because once they go after a car there is no way that you can be sure that your dog will be coming home uninjured. Here are a couple of tips that can help you learn how to stop your dog from chasing items.

The first tip that can help you in stopping this behavior in your dog would be to take them to an obedience training course. Now you might be asking how that could possibly help, but it does because your dog will realize that you are in charge and he needs to listen to you. So an obedience training course will help you in establishing this to your dog and it will also allow you to teach your dog commands so that when you are yelling them at him he doesn’t keep going because he doesn’t know what the words mean.

The second tip is to keep your dog on a leash when you are walking him outside. Even if they are obedience trained if you are going to be near the road your dog still may start to take off after a car which even in that split second your dog could become injured. So you will want to keep your dog on a leash anytime that you are going to be near the road with him, but still have them obedience trained to prevent them from pulling your down the street after the car.

Vintage and classical vehicles have always inspired car enthusiasts, around the world. Historically, American cars have been among the spotlights, in every major motor show. So much emphasis is laid on the mechanics and design of the classical American cars that people have forgotten about the Asian vintage cars that rivaled the best in the history. One of the reasons behind the success of the American cars was its reliance on a heavy iron framework that was solid enough to stand the test of times. It is only now; avid collectors are turning to the power of the Japanese and Asian vintage cars that have nearly been forgotten. Here we look at some of the three greatest classical machines:

Honda S600

The Honda S600 roadster was first reveled in the Tokyo auto show, back in 1962. The unveiling of this majestic beauty was riddled with controversies. Nissan Figaro

The car was first introduced in the 1989 Tokyo motor show. Consequently the production started in 1991. Nissan Figaro was sloganned, ‘Back to the future’. Its retro looks and a typical Japanese style made it such an instant hit that it was often sold by a lottery. Another funky detail was the original topaz mist color that was least popular among the general public. Only 2000 models with topaz were sold initially which than became highly sought after color scheme. The vintage model provided every luxurious amenity that anyone would crave for. It had leather seats, CD player, open roof and air conditioning. Celebrities made it popular, thereafter. It was first seen in Doctor WHO. Initially it was sold to Japanese public but greater demand made manufactures export it to other countries, as well. There are only 20,000 models, ever sold.

Toyota Corona T-10

The Toyota Corona vintage model was first introduced in 1957. It had all the hallmarks of the greatest luxury cars of its time. The looks and the reliability of the car are only rivaled by a few in the history. The corona due to its 960 cc engine and a heavy metallic luster became an instant hit in the West. The car was originally designed by making use of the parts by Crown and Master series. The model was powered by the famous P-series engine. Japanese were not known for their luxury cars but instead for a cost effective design. Toyota engineers early production costs, long-term sustainability for T – 10 specializing in the production of two years and is a matter of legend.

You’ve been there; being a new driver in these times can be a nightmare. The higher the number, the less amount of money you would have to pay for the premium, and then lesser quotes.

Generally speaking, insurance companies use these parameters in estimating how safe you and your vehicle will be. For instance, what is your occupation? How many miles do you travel per year? Where is your car going to be parked? Are you single or married?

These questions help the company in establishing a client profile. How safe are you going to be in your car? What are the probabilities that you’re going to crash, be left on the road stranded, have a collision? And then they calculate the costs.

That’s why they use statistical data to establish the premium rates. Other method is that they gather the frequency claims’ payment over the curse of the last 3 years for each and every car model. The vehicles with the most claims are obviously the least safe. Then, it’s decided that the premium fare will be higher. Also, the higher the cost of repairing any damage caused by a collision, the higher will be the insurance premium.

Other interesting fact is that there are actually cars that have a relatively predictable pattern of drivers. Young males with SUV’s are more prone to accidents and mishaps than young females, so a higher premium will be charged. Not to mention that the chances of a specific car getting stolen determine the premium that must be paid.
